Xponential Fitness Sets Strategy for International Growth

With franchise agreements in place in Qatar, Asia and Europe, Xponential is looking to grow well beyond its current 350-studio overseas footprint

Xponential Fitness has named Bob Kaufman as its president of international as the global boutique fitness franchisor plots its continued international expansion. It’s been a big autumn for Xponential, which, aside from its international conquests, will also be in homes worldwide through a virtual and mixed-reality app on Meta’s Quest 3 headset.

“International expansion is a key strategic driver of Xponential’s growth and the value we’re creating for shareholders,” said Anthony Geisler, founder and CEO of Xponential. “Bob is a true industry veteran with a long-standing history of international franchising success, and we’re thrilled to have him lead our already impressive international team. We look forward to leveraging his expertise as we continue to grow our international presence.”

Kaufman has previously led global franchising efforts at Tower Records, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and Mathnasium. In his new role, Kaufman will oversee all ten of Xponential’s brands internationally.

Xponential’s Overseas Expansion

Xponential Fitness currently has over 350 international locations and is set to add many more.

As the fitness franchisor continues to grow its global presence, the franchisor has announced that Active Franchise Management Company, its master franchise partner in Kuwait, has signed a new master franchise agreement in Qatar to develop Club Pilates, Rumble, StretchLab and AKT studios.

The boutique fitness franchisor continues to expand into Asia and Europe, with new multi-unit franchise agreements for BFT, its group strength training brand, in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Scotland and Spain.

Xponential Grows in Australia & New Zealand

In the land Down Under, two brothers-in-law, Matt Gordin and Brendan James, have set out to open up to 500 Xponential studios across popular brands Club Pilates, CycleBar, StretchLab and Rumble Boxing.

Through their company, Boutique Fitness Studios (BFS), Gordin and James own the master franchisor rights to those four Xponental brands in Australia and New Zealand. They have 91 locations currently sold, 38 studios opened, and more expected to open by the end of the year.

“If we can hit 500 across the four brands, as far as the Australian market goes, that’s extremely successful,” James told Athletech News last month.
