Technogym’s Alessandri Invests in Acqua Filette Mineral Water

From performance to purity: Technogym founder pours into high-end mineral water, expanding wellness playbook
Wellness Holding, the investment firm of Technogym founder and CEO Nerio Alessandri, has taken a stake in Acqua Filette, a premium Italian mineral water brand known for its focus on purity.
The collaboration will focus on strengthening the family-owned Acqua Filette’s brand positioning and accelerating expansion into high-end international markets, leveraging Wellness Holding’s network and expertise in hospitality and wellness to drive growth.
“Water is a fundamental element of life and, consequently, a true source of health—the new luxury,” Alessandri said. “Filette, a brand that combines ethics, quality and premium positioning, perfectly aligns with our long-term mission to improve people’s quality of life through prevention and healthy longevity. We believe in the Ricci family’s experience and Filette’s management, and together, we will join forces to develop the brand
worldwide.”

Acqua Filette packages its water exclusively in glass and aluminum, avoiding plastic as part of its sustainability focus. It also boasts a rare mineral profile free of arsenic, with low levels of nitrates and sodium and a naturally balanced mix of mineral salts. The family-owned brand has carved out a niche in the high-end hospitality sector, with distribution in Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels.
“Acqua Filette is a prime water brand born in 1894, unique in the world for its history, composition and identity,” Pietro Ricci said. “Filette is a family company that has, for generations, enhanced a natural heritage unlike any other. Entering this new phase with the Alessandri family means embracing a long-term project founded on shared values: meticulous attention to detail, a passion for excellence and a commitment to bringing Filette to the most iconic places where quality and wellness meet.”
The move follows a banner year from Technogym, which has recently launched Healthness, a new strategic vision that leverages trillions of data points collected across its ecosystem to deliver prescriptive exercise programs personalized to each user’s health profile and goals. Additionally, Technogym is set to capitalize on the booming Pilates market with the development of the Technogym Reform, a premium reformer made from sustainable materials that will be available for both commercial operators and home fitness consumers later this year.
