Backed by a new multimillion-dollar investment, SLT plans to acquire select reformer-based Pilates studios with already-established client bases
SLT (Strengthen Lengthen Tone) is making a bold push for expansion, announcing its intention to acquire reformer-based Pilates studios across the United States following a recent multimillion-dollar investment.
Currently, the boutique fitness brand operates 20 studios across the Northeast, including many in its home base of New York City, but SLT is on its way to adding more locations to its portfolio.
“We believe there is a significant opportunity to thoughtfully expand the SLT footprint through the strategic acquisition of studios that have built strong, engaged communities,” said SLT founder Amanda Freeman. “Our goal is to preserve what makes each studio special while providing the infrastructure, brand strength and operational expertise needed to scale sustainably.”
Known for its 50-minute high-intensity, low-impact workouts combining strength, cardio and Pilates movements, the boutique brand markets itself as an “all-in-one workout.”

As part of its expansion push, the brand is seeking established studios that already have a loyal client base, experienced instructors, prime retail locations and strong revenue streams.
SLT will provide acquired studios with access to its marketing and real estate expertise, as well as its instructor training programs, technology and operational support.
“We are incredibly excited about the opportunity to further expand the SLT brand through new studio expansion and strategic acquisitions,” said SLT chief operating officer Bryon Fields. “Consolidation within the category is long overdue, and given the longevity and strength of the SLT brand and operating platform, we believe SLT is uniquely positioned to lead that consolidation.”
SLT is one of many brands leaning into the Pilates boom, including luxury club operator Life Time, which declared earlier this year its goal of being “the industry’s clear leader” of reformer Pilates as it doubled down on its investment in the modality.
Meanwhile, Australia-founded Strong Pilates is one of several Pilates franchises expanding aggressively. Strong is eyeing nearly 100 additional locations across the U.S. following the opening of its first California location, in West Hollywood.
