Shed Enters Genetic Testing With At-Home Fitness & Wellness Kits

It may not tell you who your ancestors are, but Shed’s $399 test will tell you if your genes lean toward endurance training or HIIT

For anyone who doesn’t need another long-lost cousin, supplement and wellness company Shed has launched a series of at-home DNA kits to help consumers tailor nutrition, fitness and lifestyle choices to their biology.

The move comes as genetic testing faces heightened scrutiny after privacy breaches and trust issues at 23andMe, but Shed is positioning its offering strictly as a wellness tool. The kits are sold in four tiers: a $499 Total Wellness package covering nutrition, fitness, sleep, stress, cognition and longevity, a $399 option focused on how the body processes food and responds to exercise and two $249 kits that drill down separately into nutrition or fitness, highlighting metabolism, appetite regulation and recovery tendencies.

Customers use a cheek swab, mail it in and receive a digital report within two to four weeks. According to Shed, the report may include insights on vitamin and macronutrient needs, metabolic health, optimal training style, muscle-building potential and recovery speed, sleep quality, stress response and markers tied to longevity.

“Personalized wellness is the future,” Shed CEO Morley Baker said. “Our genetic testing kits turn raw DNA data into a roadmap for better health, helping people align their habits with their unique biology. Our goal is to empower people with the information they need to take control of their health journey. By understanding your genetic blueprint, you can make changes that are both effective and sustainable.”
