A new episode from the BBC wellness series highlights Precor through the journey of golfer Niuniu Zhao, whose training with the brand’s equipment helps her manage scoliosis as she works to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open
Commercial fitness equipment leader Precor is stepping into the spotlight with a new feature in season three of “In Pursuit of Wellness,” a documentary-style series produced for the Global Wellness Institute by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions.
The short film, “Power of Movement,” follows Niuniu Zhao, a junior professional golfer who was diagnosed with scoliosis two years ago and has since adopted a rigorous strength training routine to manage the condition and reduce strain on her spine as she works toward qualifying for the U.S. Women’s Open.
Her story is interwoven with perspectives from fitness professionals and Precor’s design and manufacturing teams, focusing on how equipment design can support people across different stages of their fitness journey. The piece also highlights the company’s work in sustainability and product longevity.
For Zhao, Precor’s equipment is part of the story. Since golf demands constant rotation and coordination across the legs, arms and torso, she says Precor’s equipment has become central to her training. “I use the glute builder series, which includes deadlifts, hip thrusts,” Zhao said. “I’ll also use the dual adjustable pulley for building core strength, as well as building strength within my arms.”

Beyond the technical gains, she views training as an outlet. “If I’ve had a stressful day, if I’m mad about something, it’s a perfect outlet for putting that frustration into power,” she said.
Her personal connection to movement reflects Precor’s design philosophy, which the company says emphasizes fitness, ease of use, personalization and reliability.
“We take pride in supporting the operators and environments that help people keep showing up for their health, day after day,” Precor CEO Dustin Grosz said.
The feature is part of Precor’s Power of Movement campaign, which expands on the themes of the film through personal experiences and discussions on the future of fitness.
Precor, a subsidiary of Peloton, is also a key part of the connected fitness giant’s strategy. In the commercial space, Peloton recently announced plans to integrate its Precor operations with its software and coaching into a unified business unit tailored to gym operators, hotels, residential buildings and campuses.
