Myzone Names Winners of 2023 Congressional Fitness Challenge

Myzone’s annual challenge puts a spotlight on physical activity in partnership with the Physical Activity Alliance

Myzone has released the results of its 2023 Congressional Physical Activity Challenge, which saw members of Congress and their teams use wearable MZ-Switch heart rate monitors as they competed through regular physical activity, providing a truly healthy dose of competition.

The annual competition ran for a month.

“Exercise is crucial to our physical and mental health, and we must continue to encourage Americans to get active,” said Representative Brian Fitzpatrick. “I’m proud to co-chair the Physical Activity Caucus in the House, and I’m thrilled to see the annual challenge back on the Hill to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity.”

Winners of the Congressional Physical Activity Challenge 2023:

  • Highest Average Myzone Effort Points: Senator Rick Scott
  • Team Myzone Effort Points: Senator Cynthia M. Lummis
  • Most Participants to Reach World Health Organization Physical Activity Guidelines: Senator John Thune
  • Individual Point Leader – Logan Sicker: 23,275MEPs (The Office of Representative Michael Cloud)

Mike Leveque, Myzone CEO for the Americas, commented that the fitness industry has experienced a bumpy ride over the past few years.

“But now with activity levels in gyms once again on the rise, the Congressional Physical Activity Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to encourage healthier lifestyles for more people across the nation,” Leveque said.

“Using the MZ-Switch to monitor exercise and positive behavior change in and out of the gym, this challenge is a shining beacon of the potential for us to get our message across to the policy-makers in the heart of DC and beyond,” he added.

The challenge also helped raise awareness of how accessible exercise can be with simple changes, noted Amy Bantham, president of the Physical Activity Alliance.
