The Hollywood gym will serve as Pacquiao’s training base for his September rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and serve as the first of many Pacquiao Prime Boxing locations

Manny Pacquiao is entering the fitness business with plans to scale, beginning with a former location of Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, the franchise co-founded by rival Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The eight-division world boxing champion has taken over the spot on Highland Avenue in Hollywood after the Mayweather Boxing + Fitness franchisee declined to renew the lease. The location officially closed Jan. 1, 2025, per a social media post.

The space is being rebranded as Pacquiao Prime Boxing, according to a report first published by The Ring on Tuesday.

Pacquiao Prime Boxing will serve as Pacquiao’s training base for his September rematch against Mayweather at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

“This is not an emotional decision, it’s a business decision,” Jas Mathur, CEO of Pacquiao’s promotional company and a former business associate of Mayweather, told the publication. “We’re not looking at anything Mayweather Boxing + Fitness did. We have our own model, and it’s the first of many Pacquiao Prime Boxing locations we want to open. It’s the first step in a much bigger plan that we have.”

Pacquiao Prime Boxing will appeal to pro fighters, athletes, celebrities and top trainers, Mathur added.

Mayweather Boxing + Fitness was acquired last August by Utah-based Giant Ideas LLC, along with KickHouse, and folded into the company’s Legends Boxing portfolio. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal came as Mayweather Boxing + Fitness was navigating turbulence, including several location closures and lawsuits from four franchisees against the company, according to Business Insider.

The Mayweather Boxing + Fitness website currently markets the brand as having more than 100 locations open or in development. The 2025 Giant Ideas announcement put the combined studio count across Legends Boxing, Mayweather Boxing + Fitness and KickHouse at more than 70.
