Ditto Daily Gets Early Funding for Menstrual Health Supplement

From PMS to menopause, startups like Ditto Daily and Midi Health are filling the gaps in women’s health, and investors are taking notice

Ditto Daily has raised £1.35 million ($1.72 million) in pre-seed funding to scale its science-backed supplement targeting menstrual symptoms, joining the rare ranks of women’s health startups to secure early-stage venture capital.

The round was led by Eka Ventures, with participation from investors including Jean-Baptiste Wautier. The funding will support Ditto’s clinical research, product innovation and channel expansion.

It will also support the U.K. startup’s product, the Ditto Daily Cycle Supplement, which was co-formulated by leading female scientists including Dr. Anita Mitra and features “beadlet-in-oil” nutrient delivery technology designed to enhance absorption.

According to Ditto, its Cycle Supplement has seen “significant uptake” since launching in the UK four months ago, particularly among women with premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). The startup reports that a recent clinical trial showed 88% of participants experienced a reduction in overall symptom severity.

“For too long, there has been a huge disconnect between what science understands and the solutions available to those suffering from cycle-related symptoms. Too many are given outdated advice or left to navigate trial and error with ineffective approaches,” Ditto Daily founder and nutrition scientist Alice van der Schoot said. “At Ditto, we’re setting a new standard in how we understand and manage menstrual cycles through a science-led approach, ensuring women have access to the solutions they deserve. This funding allows us to accelerate our research and deliver more evidence-based solutions to the billions of women who need them.”:

Ditto Daily plans to conduct three additional clinical trials over the next year as it looks to introduce new innovations in the menstrual health category. Beyond its female-focused supplement, Ditto has cultivated a loyal following, with more than 110,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok.

“Eka is thrilled to lead Ditto Daily’s pre-seed round, backing Alice’s vision to translate cutting-edge academic science into mainstream, efficacious products that improve women’s daily health from the inside,” Eka Ventures general partner Camilla Dolan said. “Early feedback and clinical results from Ditto Daily’s first product, Cycle supplement, demonstrates the unmet need in women’s health and the team’s ability to deliver fast, evidence-based impact.”

Ditto Daily’s raise comes as investment in women’s health sees a modest uptick. While overall health tech funding dropped 27% in 2023, women’s health startups saw a 5% increase, Deloitte reported in 2024.

Elsewhere in the women’s health space, Midi Health, a virtual care platform focused on menopause and midlife health, raised $63 million in Series B funding earlier this spring, backed by high-profile investors including Meghan Markle, Amy Schumer and Laurene Powell Jobs’ Emerson Collective.

Notably, Midi Health is also among the first telehealth companies to enter the women’s supplement market, launching a new line formulated for women aged 35 to 65. According to the company, the move was driven by patient demand. Even platforms traditionally focused on men are shifting gears. U.K.-based Numan, known for GLP-1s and testosterone therapy, recently raised $60 million to expand its reach and launch a new hormonal health offering for women. After doubling revenue to $90 million last year, the telehealth company indicated that women’s health is central to its next phase of growth, alongside AI-powered coaching and international expansion.
