The Unbreakable Health Retreat is “closer to an elite mastermind and wellness retreat than a traditional medical conference,” the event’s producer says

As wellness tourism takes off, a new immersive experience for industry professionals is coming to the hub of Miami, blending metabolic science with networking and curated experiences for leaders in health, fitness and wellness.

Organized by the Broken Science Initiative (BSI) and MetFix, the Unbreakable Health Retreat 2026 will take place May 30 to 31 at the Ritz‑Carlton Coconut Grove, bringing together fitness professionals, coaches, bio-hackers and clinicians for small-group breakout sessions and facilitated networking circles to engage in meaningful conversations, brainstorming and exchange of ideas.

“Unbreakable is closer to an elite mastermind and wellness retreat than a traditional medical conference,” said event producer Karen Thomson. “You’re not just listening to talks; you’re workshopping your own playbook, building real relationships, and having the kind of conversations you simply cannot have on Zoom.”

The two-day event is catered toward medical professionals like physicians, nurses and PAs, as well as MetFix affiliate owners and health entrepreneurs; scientists, educators, and medical society members; and scientific integrity advocates.

BSI was founded to expose systemic failures in science, education, and health while advocating for more transparency. MetFix (short for Metabolic Fix) is an education-driven health program that blends the mechanics of movement and how the body processes energy through nutrition to equip coaches with the tools to improve health, with over 100 locations embedded in gyms in the U.S., U.K., EU, Canada and beyond.

Both organizations were co-founded Greg Glassman, the founder of CrossFit, and Emily Kaplan, an expert in strategy and communications, and a former journalist.

“MetFix is exploring the etiology, origins and nature of cancer and chronic disease, and Broken Science is exploring the resistance to that effort,” Glassman said.

Programming includes sunrise workouts, lectures and evening gatherings, with speakers across health, science, fitness and wellness including:

  • Greg Glassman – Founder, CrossFit; Co‑Founder, The Broken Science Initiative and MetFix
  • Emily Kaplan – Co‑founder, Broken Science Initiative and MetFix
