Anytime Fitness Rolls Out New App With Personalized Coaching Services
Members can use the AF App to schedule fitness consults, book training sessions or chat with a coach via text and video calls.
Anytime Fitness announced the launch of its AF SmartCoaching technology and AF App, offering its members digital, round-the-clock personalized coaching and support.
The fitness franchise says the technology rollout is part of its strategy to provide coaching inside and outside the club so its members can improve their health wherever and whenever they want.
While Anytime Fitness locations remain open 24 hours a day, the fitness operator recognizes that health and wellness extend beyond the time spent in the gym.
“Many people struggle to achieve their health and fitness goals because of lack of time, confidence, and know-how,” said Stacy Anderson, president of Anytime Fitness. “Our AF SmartCoaching system will help people meet their goals more efficiently and effectively by delivering fitness, nutrition and recovery coaching anytime, anywhere, measuring their progress beyond the scale, and using behavioral data to deliver personalized recommendations along the way.”
Anytime’s AF SmartCoaching technology tracks member activity and performance inside and outside the club. The fitness operator says data and predictive analytics “supercharge” its Anytime Fitness coaches, developing a personalized health and fitness plan for each member.
The app lets members access a customized plan, including training, nutrition and recovery tips and guidance. A body composition scanner is used to measure progress, allowing clients to see the improvement that a standard scale cannot capture. New programs are then designed to match a member’s increased fitness level as goals are met.
Members can connect on the AF app to schedule fitness consults, personal or group training sessions, or chat with a coach via text and video calls.
AF coaches can also access member data and track real-time progress while providing motivational support. They will also be available to answer questions through written responses or brief video demonstrations.
While non-members can use certain app features, coaching services are only available to members.
According to Anytime Fitness, the app will include a digital key function later this year that members can use to access Anytime Fitness clubs around the globe.
The AF app can be downloaded at the App Store on iOS or Android smartphones.
The launch of the AF app comes just a few months after Anytime Fitness and other members of the Community Gyms Coalition (CGC) made their “Fitness is Essential” commitments to the White House Conference on Hunger, Health and Nutrition.
One of the campaign’s stated goals is to “offer free access to apps empowering Americans to track their nutrition and physical activity and make healthier choices.”
The CGC is made up of 15,000 community gyms and fitness facilities across the U.S. Its members include not just Anytime Fitness, but other leading brands including CrossFit, Orangetheory Fitness and Planet Fitness.
