The expansion reflects Nashville’s growing demand for boutique fitness, especially the unique modality first developed by Sebastian Lagree. The method is known for its ability to develop both strength and endurance, with full-body workouts that combine elements of Pilates, bodybuilding and yoga. “When I opened Studio Novo Nashville 13 years ago, we were not only the very first studio in the area, but Lagree was relatively unheard of in Tennessee,” said Studio Novo Nashville founder Anna Tefel. “Today, seeing how it’s transformed lives and communities reminds me why we started,” Tefel added. “Expanding Studio Novo into a new area feels like the next exciting step in that journey, and we cannot wait to continue helping those in the Nashville community feel their best through functional movement.” The East Nashville location features Lagree-specific MegaPro reformer machines, and will open up a full schedule of 50-minute classes at the end of October, with classes from 5:30 a.m. to 7:20 p.m. A grand opening event will take place on November 15, offering giveaways and founding membership rates. “I always knew I wanted to open a Lagree studio, so partnering with Anna to bring a second location to East Nashville was a no-brainer,” co-owner Olivia Dean said. credit: Moncell Allen Productions “With nearly 90% of the city’s studios clustered on the West side, we saw a real opportunity to introduce the method to a growing community that’s been looking for something like this,” Dean added. “As a resident of East Nashville, I’ve seen firsthand just how much our area and community are growing, and I knew this was the perfect way to contribute to that growth.” Branded as Nashville’s original Lagree studio, Studio Novo isn’t the only brand to tap into the city’s market for low-impact fitness. Earlier this year, JetSet Pilates confirmed the opening of two Nashville locations, bringing its high-energy reformer classes to the city. Solidcore also has locations in the city, among other brands.
