SotoMethod is expanding its New York City presence with a new Upper East Side studio slated to open in Spring 2026.

The location, at 206C E 86th Street, will mark the brand’s second permanent brick-and-mortar studio in the city, following the opening of its Tribeca flagship, and reflects continued demand for SotoMethod’s efficient, structured approach to strength and conditioning.

Founded by Hilary Hoffman, SotoMethod was originally developed as a digital-first fitness platform before transitioning into physical spaces.

The brand gained early traction through its app and a successful six-month pop-up in downtown Manhattan, which ultimately led to the launch of its first permanent studio in Tribeca. That location established SotoMethod as a physical player in New York’s competitive boutique fitness landscape while reinforcing the viability of its hybrid digital and in-person model.

The Upper East Side opening builds directly on that momentum. Known for long-term residents compared to other parts of NYC, consistent routines and loyalty-driven studio attendance, the neighborhood aligns closely with SotoMethod’s emphasis on predictability and sustainable strength.

Hoffman said the location carries personal significance as well.

“As a New Yorker, opening on the Upper East Side feels incredibly special,” Hoffman said. “This community understands commitment and routine, and SotoMethod was built for exactly that kind of mindset – strength that fits into your life and grows with you over time.”

At the core of SotoMethod is a workout format designed to maximize efficiency. Classes alternate 60-second isometric holds with 10 controlled dynamic movements, a system intended to fully fatigue each muscle group while maintaining a steady, predictable flow. The method blends cardio and strength training into a single session.

Predictability is a defining feature of the SotoMethod experience. By using seconds as the fundamental unit of programming, the brand removes uncertainty around class structure and progression, allowing clients to focus on effort rather than instruction.

“Knowing every individual has a unique definition of results, Soto will always be a method where effort and outcome are directly correlated,” Hoffman told Athletech News in 2024. “At the end of the day, we hope to help clients unlock their maximum strength potential through our intentional full-body workout roadmap that improves muscular strength, endurance and overall heart health.”
