SotoMethod Opens First Permanent Studio in Tribeca
The workout, known for its efficient and effective circuit workouts, will be located at 68 Thomas Street in Tribeca
SotoMethod, the fitness method founded by former finance professional and celebrity trainer Hilary Hoffman, is set to open its first permanent studio at 68 Thomas Street in Tribeca on December 3. The brand started as an at-home fitness platform and has gained a reputation for its efficient, results-driven workouts after its successful six-month pop-up at 28 Warren Street earlier this year.
“Our first brick-and-mortar location at 68 Thomas Street is a natural extension of the momentum we built during our pop-up,” Hoffman shared with Athletech News. “From January to June, we used that time to test demand while mitigating risk—a principle that’s core to our business philosophy. The success of 28 Warren and the enthusiastic support from our downtown community made the decision to stay in this neighborhood an easy one.”
SotoMethod‘s move to Tribeca is also personally meaningful for Hoffman, who spent six years working and living in the area while at Goldman Sachs. “Establishing our flagship here feels like coming full circle, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue serving this vibrant community,” she added.
A Space Designed for Connection and Functionality
The 3,750-square-foot studio, designed by Hudson Union Architecture, combines the open feel of an urban loft with a minimalist, neutral aesthetic. It aims to create an inviting atmosphere for its in-person classes while maintaining a connection to the brand’s digital roots. The space will host 32 weekly classes and includes a digital recording studio to support SotoMethod’s streaming platform.
Hoffman described the design as blending strength and sophistication. “Our design aesthetic embodies strength, sleekness and sophistication, inspired by the timeless elegance of designers like Joseph Dirand. We wanted the studio to feel elevated yet welcoming, with every element—from the layout to the products we include—chosen intentionally.”
Guests attending in-person classes will have access to self-care products from Crown Affair and Dyson, as well as exclusive merchandise from brands like 437 and Set Active.
The Workout
SotoMethod’s approach has resonated with a diverse audience, including professionals, parents, and fitness enthusiasts looking for an effective, time-efficient workout. The method, which alternates 60-second isometric holds with 10 dynamic movements, is designed to maximize muscle engagement and recovery in each session.
“Many of our clients face challenges maintaining consistent routines due to demanding schedules,” Hoffman explained. “What they appreciate about SotoMethod is its proven results and flexibility. Whether they want a short, targeted workout or a more comprehensive session, the method can adapt to meet their needs.”
Hoffman emphasized that the workout is designed to be inclusive and accessible to people at all fitness levels, offering a balance of cardio and strength training to improve overall endurance and well-being.
A Community-Oriented Approach
While the workout itself is a key draw, Hoffman believes the sense of connection SotoMethod fosters is equally important. “I’m so proud of the community we’ve built through our app and studios,” she said. “Our goal is to meet people where they are and help them integrate fitness into their lives in a way that feels manageable. It’s about building strength—not just physically, but mentally as well.”
