NASM Reimagines Golf Training With New Course

NASM’s new Golf Fitness Specialization (GFS) program aims to take golfers’ game and fitness to the next level
The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) has launched a reimagined Golf Fitness Specialization (GFS) program designed for golf pros, personal trainers and coaches.
The updated program from the fitness and wellness certification leader aims to enhance golf performance, reduce injury risk and help golfers of all levels reach top physical condition with assessment protocols and progressive programming strategies.
As NASM notes, more than 531 million rounds of golf were played globally in 2023, according to the National Golf Foundation—a figure reflecting the sport’s growing popularity and an increasing emphasis on fitness among golfers.
“Golfers face unique challenges that require a holistic and dynamic approach,” NASM head of product Mike Fantigrassi said. “Our GFS program equips trainers with the tools to make a significant impact on golfers’ performance and overall health, whether they’re beginners or seasoned pros.”
