As connected fitness evolves, iFIT plans integrate deeper biometric tracking and biomarker fitness insights into its platform

iFIT is turning to science to shape the future of fitness for its more than six million members.

The connected fitness company has formed the iFIT Science Council, a panel of health and wellness experts tasked with guiding its product development and member experience strategy. The council includes specialists in longevity, sleep, cognitive performance and women’s health, including Dr. Darshan Shah, Mona Sharma, Louisa Nicola, Dr. Michael Breus, Dr. Duncan French, Dr. Vonda Wright and Dr. Rangan Chatterjee.

“Health and wellness journeys are deeply personal—each of us starts from a different place, but we’re unified by a common goal: to live healthier lives,” iFIT CEO Kevin Duffy said. “The challenge is knowing where to begin, how to adapt, and what truly works. With rapid advancements across exercise science, physiology and health optimization, we now have powerful tools to guide these journeys. The iFIT Science Council allows us to translate that science into actionable, everyday routines—making the fundamentals of fitness more accessible, personal, and impactful for millions of members around the world.”

Drawing on research in metabolism, genetics and exercise physiology, the expert group will guide iFIT’s efforts to integrate biometric tracking and biomarker fitness insights, using data such as heart-rate variability and recovery metrics to create workouts that adapt in real-time based on each user’s unique physiology and performance.

“One-size-fits-all workouts are a thing of the past. By harnessing real biomarker data and the latest scientific research, we can tailor truly science-backed workouts to each individual,” iFIT chief medical officer Dr. Darshan Shah said. “The Science Council brings together leading minds in sports medicine, nutrition, and technology to transform our approach to connected fitness. Together, we’ll help iFIT members to achieve better results through personalized, evidence-based training.”
