If the future of wellness is personalization and longevity, Smile House might be its dental counterpart. The Tribeca, New York City, studio, created by esthetic dentist Dr. Jonathan B. Levine, aims to rewrite the dental experience.
I booked a full, comprehensive visit to check out the future-focused dental clinic.
First Impressions
Walking into Smile House doesn’t feel like walking into the dentist. Instead of the usual sterile, fluorescent-lit reception, the space looks more like a curated living room. The entrance set the tone for what Smile House aims to deliver: dentistry through the lens of wellness and hospitality. The Tribeca studio is the newest concept from Dr. Jonathan B. Levine, whose 35 years on Fifth Avenue shaped much of the field’s modern esthetic dentistry. Smile House reflects his shift toward whole-body wellness, longevity and prevention, all supported by diagnostics.

The Diagnostic Start
My appointment began with digital X-rays and 3D imaging, which are standard tools but were presented with far more context and intention than I’ve experienced elsewhere. The team walked me through what they were looking for: jaw alignment, bone levels, signs of grinding, airway markers and inflammation patterns. Rather than a routine step, it felt like the foundation of a complete, individualized assessment.
Next came Mouth Mapping, Smile House’s signature diagnostic service that evaluates over 32 markers across gum health, enamel strength, bite balance, longevity risk factors and overall oral function. I also did oral microbiome and salivary testing, which measured pH and bacterial patterns associated with gum disease and inflammation. The team explained how these markers relate to both oral and systemic health. This portion of the visit felt more like a wellness assessment than a traditional dental exam.

A Different Dental Visit
After diagnostics, I was guided upstairs to the main clinical area for one of the most personal cleanings I’ve had. My hygienist pointed out where minor inflammation was starting and what small brushing and flossing adjustments could make a meaningful difference over time.
The dental consult brought everything together. We reviewed the imaging and diagnostic material, talked through what was functioning well and mapped out proactive steps to support long-term oral health.
Other Offerings
Beyond the comprehensive diagnostic visit I experienced, Smile House offers a range of services designed to support both functional and esthetic needs. Patients can book whitening, bonding, veneers and restorative treatments rooted in Dr. Levine’s esthetic expertise. The practice also provides TMJ-focused services, including targeted TMJ massage and bite-balancing strategies for those dealing with jaw tension, clenching or grinding. Routine cleanings, gum health checks, oral cancer screenings and digital imaging are available as ongoing preventive options.

Final Thoughts
Smile House delivers on its vision of reimagining dental care through a wellness lens. From the diagnostic depth of Mouth Mapping and microbiome testing to the personalized cleaning and hospitality-driven environment, the visit felt modern, calming and genuinely comprehensive. It’s dentistry that feels elevated and supportive.
