Fly Dance Fitness takes its first steps into franchising—and is ready to groove

Fly Dance Fitness, a female-founded fitness franchise that lives up to its name, has opened the doors to its first franchise location this month in Johns Creek, Georgia—the first of eight locations planned for the year.

The modality offers a fresh take on the fitness franchise model, incorporating the documented mental health benefits of dance along with the rising popularity of dance-based workouts.

In an interview earlier this year with Athletech News, Fly Dance Fitness CEO Stacey Marks shared that the dance fitness brand received more than a thousand franchise applications in its first year but remained intentional about its growth strategy and personally interviewed every franchise candidate. One of the franchise requirements is that each location must be owner-operated.

The Sarasota-based franchisor currently has three studios in the works for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (slated to open April 11), Orlando, Florida and Broomfield, Colorado. Other locations are expected to open in late spring and summer in Lakewood Ranch, Florida; San Antonio, Texas; Knoxville, Tennessee and South Jordan, Utah.

“We are beyond ecstatic to bring Fly Dance Fitness to new communities with the launch of our first franchise locations,” Marks said. “Our goal has always been bringing our signature experience to other cities while inspiring people to live healthier, happier lives through the joy of dance fitness. The franchise launch marks our biggest milestone yet in the history of Fly Dance Fitness. We can’t wait to welcome guests through our doors across the country!”

The dance fitness concept offers four class formats, designed to be accessible for beginners and equally challenging for regular attendees:

“It was important to us when it came to expanding that we set each franchisee up extremely well for success,” Fly Dance Fitness chief operating officer Kari Schroeter said. “Our amazing social media community was rooting us on when it came to franchising efforts–even offering great location ideas. We took our time to know each franchisee partner to ensure they were the right fit. Our team is intentional about strongly supporting our franchisee operations.”

Fly Dance Fitness is offering limited-time founding membership pricing at its new Johns Creek studio and all new franchise locations.
