F1 Driver Charles Leclerc Joins Eight Sleep As Investor
The sleep fitness brand has enlisted over 300 professional athletes as ambassadors, reinforcing the growing role of sleep health as the foundation for wellness and recovery
Formula One driver Charles Leclerc isn’t sleeping on sleep health—he’s just partnered with sleep fitness company Eight Sleep, makers of high-tech products designed to improve the sleep experience and promote recovery.
The renowned racing pro, who competes in Formula One for Ferrari, joins more than 300 professional athletes who have become Eight Sleep ambassadors, including Aaron Judge, Brock Purdy, Jimmy Butler and Taylor Fritz—who, along with Leclerc, is also an Eight Sleep investor.
“Partnering with Eight Sleep was a natural choice for me because they share my commitment to pursue excellence,” Leclerc said. “Sleeping on the Pod gives me so much feedback that is vital for my training – it tells me and my trainers how hard I should push myself, which is especially critical during the season when I can’t afford to put too much pressure on the body given how demanding the races are. With these personalized insights, Eight Sleep has truly redefined how I approach sleep, giving me the edge to focus on the job and deliver on the track.”
The Pod that Leclerc references is Eight Sleep’s signature sleep system, featuring a high-tech fitted cover that automatically regulates heating and cooling while integrating health-grade sensors to track heart rate and breathing. It also includes an adjustable base designed to reduce snoring. A separate “hub” serves as the system’s control center, storing water for temperature regulation. Eight Sleep currently offers three models: the Pod 3, Pod 4 and Pod 4 Ultra—a clinically validated solution shown to increase sleep time by up to one hour per night.
The sleep fitness company says Leclerc will be equipped with the Pod throughout the 2025 racing season.
“Growing up in Italy, motorsport was a huge part of my life, whether it was racing myself, helping my dad fix his racing car in the garage, or watching races at home,” Eight Sleep co-founder and CEO Matteo Franceschetti said. “I’ve watched Charles’ trajectory since his early days and I understand the hard work and discipline he has put in to stay mentally and physically strong as a top athlete. Our partnership with Charles proves that the Pod’s world-class technology sets the standard for anyone looking to optimize their health and performance.”
Last year, Eight Sleep also rolled out sleep supplements developed with Dr. Peter Attia.
Beyond Eight Sleep’s innovation in the sleep fitness space, Equinox Hotels is heavily invested in creating the best sleep ever. The luxury hotelier just partnered with Dr. Matthew Walker, a sleep scientist and neuroscience professor, to expand its Art + Science of Sleep program, where guests stay for two nights in a room crafted for optimal sleep. With Dr. Walker in the mix, Equinox Hotels will debut an immersive living experiment at Equinox Hotel New York so guests can interact with cutting-edge sleep technology and participate in studies led by Dr. Walker.
