Crunch Franchisee Fitness Ventures Hits 60 Locations

Backed by private equity, Fitness Ventures is on track to open 75 Crunch gyms by year’s end
Fitness Ventures LLC, the second-largest Crunch Fitness franchisee in the U.S., has opened its 60th gym, a 60,000-square-foot location in Des Moines, Iowa.
The $5 million club at 1200 E. Army Post Rd. is Fitness Ventures’ second in the state and touts Crunch’s 3.0 refreshed design template, along with Olympic squat racks, a group fitness studio, dry saunas, group fitness classes, performance turf, HydroMassage, tanning and Crunch’s signature HIIT Zone.
With the launch, Fitness Ventures now operates 60 HVLP (high-value, low-price) Crunch gyms across 28 states.
“This milestone represents much more than just a number,” Fitness Ventures CEO Brian Hibbard said. “Our expansion into new markets like Des Moines reflects the strength of our team, our model, and our mission to make high-value fitness accessible across the country.”
Fitness Ventures secured an investment last year from Meaningful Partners, a private equity firm that has helped supercharge growth through a blend of new clubs, mergers and acquisitions. The Crunch franchisee is on track to reach 75 open locations by year-end and aims to add 20 new gyms annually.
“We’re not just growing fast, we’re growing with purpose,” Hibbard said. “The Des Moines club is another strong step forward in a long-term plan to deliver value to both members and investors.”
