The 37,000-square-foot pickleball-meets-hospitality space marks a new chapter in New York City’s embrace of the fast-growing racket sport

CityPickle has officially arrived in Times Square.

The fast-growing urban pickleball operator has opened its long-anticipated Times Square flagship inside the historic Paramount Building at 1501 Broadway, marking its first year-round Manhattan location.

As Athletech News previously reported when plans for the site were unveiled, the 37,000-square-foot venue transforms the building’s eighth floor — once home to the famed Paramount Theatre — into a pickleball-meets-hospitality destination.

The space features seven professional-grade courts, 18-foot ceilings and rare column-free construction, along with a full-service bar and restaurant, lounge and event spaces, private shower suites and co-working phone booths

CityPickle has always been about meeting people where culture, community, and sport collide,” said the brand’s co-founder Mary Cannon. “As the sport continues to grow at an incredible pace, Times Square felt like the perfect home for our next chapter. This space matches the energy, excitement, and inclusivity of pickleball itself.”

The flagship, which also serves as CityPickle’s corporate headquarters, significantly expands access to the sport in Manhattan, offering more than 2,400 court hours per week. Only 120 memberships will be released for 2026, giving members priority booking and insider access to programming, while corporate packages are designed to attract nearby office tenants seeking team-building alternatives to traditional happy hours.

Food and beverage will play a central role in the club’s positioning. Chief operating officer Kim Russen, formerly of TAO Group, is leading an elevated dining and cocktail program intended to keep guests around beyond match play.

The Times Square debut arrives as pickleball continues to rise in popularity across America. For CityPickle, which began with New York City’s first indoor pickleball club in Long Island City and later activated seasonal courts at Central Park’s Wollman Rink, the permanent Midtown outpost signals a new chapter.

The brand has additional projects on deck including Brooklyn Bridge and the 25-court Boca Paddle by CityPickle complex in South Florida.
