TRIP raised 12 million USD
As conversations surrounding mental health and anxiety become more prevalent, TRIP offers a calming force with its CBD drinks, oils, and gummies

TRIP, a CBD brand based in the United Kingdom, has announced a 12 million USD investment led by entrepreneurs, business leaders, and investors such as Maria Raga, former CEO of Depop, and Christian Angermayer, founder of Apeiron Investment Group. The 12 million USD raised by TRIP will support the brand’s continued expansion in the United States and around the world.

The THC-free CBD brand includes drinks, oils, and gummies and is distributed in over 11,000 retail locations. Flavors of the popular CBD drinks include Elderflower Mint, Peach Ginger, Lemon Basil, and CBD-infused Cold Brew.

Daniel Khoury and Olivia Ferdi, who are married, founded the CBD brand, which became known as “Queen’s CBD” after selling out at the late Queen’s farm shop in Windsor. They met at Cambridge University and founded TRIP after discovering the healing properties of CBD when dealing with Khoury’s unexpected knee surgery before their wedding. Khoury and Ferdi then decided to leave their careers in law and finance to launch TRIP in 2018.

Sales of CBD-based products, which have been popular due to their therapeutic benefits, are projected to reach $47 billion by 2028, according to Vantage Market Research. People are increasingly interested in trying CBD as a means of dealing with stress, anxiety, poor sleep, and depression, which has contributed to the industry’s rapid expansion.

TRIP intends to expand its retail footprint in the United States through strategic partnerships as Soho House & Co.’s exclusive global CBD supplier and in Los Angeles-based retailer Erewhon. “TRIP is a Soho House favorite,” noted Soho House & Co. Drinking Director Tom Kerr. “After assessing CBD brands globally we knew TRIP was the perfect partner brand for Soho House. Since launch, they’ve been a huge hit in our houses around the world.”

TRIP doesn’t provide a high, and uses premium CBD derived from hemp. The brand uses third party lab testing on its products to ensure that the drinks and oils are THC-free. It’s also suitable for those who are gluten-free and vegan.

As discussions emerge about the importance of mental health and well-being, tools like CBD are becoming increasingly popular. “Over the last few years the world’s attitude towards the importance of mental health has changed dramatically. Since discovering the power of CBD through an incredible personal experience, our mission has always been to share calm in the everyday chaos, with next-generation wellbeing products to power your lifestyle and help care for your mental health. Helping to open up conversations around stress and anxiety, we’re excited to create a community across the globe, harnessing the power of plants to find their calm,” said TRIP co-founder Ferdi.
