Banyan Tree Debuts ‘Connections,’ a Journey for Two in Four Luxe Destinations

Banyan Tree’s new reservation add-on is grounded in the belief that well-being is best experienced through shared moments
Banyan Tree, a premium retreat sanctuary, has unveiled Banyan Tree Connections, a private and immersive experience for two that kicks off the first phase of the sanctuary’s enhanced offerings.
The new concept taps into a trio of themes shaping today’s wellness tourism trends—partly amplified by HBO’s hit series “The White Lotus”: analog wellness, human connection and the infusion of local culture.
Banyan Tree Connections is available as an add-on to room reservations and is launching in four locations this May: Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru in the Maldives, Banyan Tree Phuket in Thailand, Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico and Banyan Tree Anji in China.

“In a world where time together is increasingly fragmented, genuine connection is becoming rare,” said Paul Hawco, executive director of integrated well-being at Banyan Group. “Banyan Tree Connections was created in response to this universal longing—offering experiences that nurture relationships, inner well-being and shared renewal in some of the world’s most awe-inspiring settings. Banyan Tree has always been a Sanctuary for the Senses, where each moment is infused with intimacy and a deep connection to the local culture. This program reflects our belief that well-being is not just individual, but flourishes in togetherness.”
Guests who book Banyan Tree Connections can expect a personalized well-being consultation before diving into a series of experiences that encourage social connection and vary based on each sanctuary.
In Maldives, guests reconnect with nature through yoga, breathwork, sound meditation, lagoon floating therapy and a reflexology workshop. There’s also a Maldivian cooking class followed by a private sunset cruise that concludes with a “bonding destination dining experience.”

Thailand, meanwhile, offers similar experiences, along with a private lagoon kayak sightseeing tour and a sharing-style Japanese dinner at Hojo. In Mexico, guests enjoy yoga, Mangrove Movement, drum breathwork meditation, spa treatments, a private kayaking journey, a recycled paper workshop and a sharing-style La Copa Mexican dinner. In China, guests participate in a private duo stretch session, sound healing meditation and a 90-minute spa treatment, as well as a private guided hike through Lingfeng Mountain, a white tea bath bomb workshop and a sharing-style Saffron Thai dinner.
