BandLab has resulted in the success of music hitmakers, with two reaching the Billboard charts. The integration of Airbit, date TBD, will allow content creators to reach millions globally.

BandLab, a social media creation platform, has acquired Airbit, an artist-led marketplace where creators can share and sell their beats. The move follows other notable acquisitions, including ReverbNation in November 2021.

Airbit has been a money-maker for creative beatmakers, earning them over $45 million with over two million beats sold and opening doors to building a community or a career.

Singapore-based BandLab has successfully launched other creators into orbit. The platform boasts over 60 million hit makers, two of whom have reached the Billboard charts – and it appears more are to follow.

Consider this: Diego Gonzalez, a Seattle teenager, has gone viral on Spotify and TikTok after using BandLab to create his music and content. Gonzalez has surged in popularity, gaining fans as a result of his hit song “You & I,” which has been used in over 300,000 TikTok clips.

BandLab credits its success to growing with its talented user base and is committed to developing or integrating all the latest tools a creator may need to focus on delivering a hit.

Meng Ru Kuok, CEO & Founder of BandLab Technologies, says that the platform is continually searching for ways to support its artists in their creative endeavors.

“Thanks to companies like Airbit, self-serve beat marketplaces have become an exciting route for creators to find and purchase high-quality beats to kickstart their creative process,” he said. “We’re excited to improve the user experience for our creators and introduce new ways for them to earn a living.”

BandLab’s acquisition of Airbit will expand its full-service creator toolset, which includes DAW, a free mobile-first cross-platform, and SongStarter, an AI music idea generator. BandLab says users can look forward to an uninterrupted integration of Airbit’s features into the creator platform.

Airbit’s CEO, Wasim Khamlichi, says BandLab’s acquisition will take the platform to the next level. It will also broaden the global audience reach of Airbit creators, who will now be able to share their beats with millions of new customers.

The companies confirmed that current Airbit CEO Khamlichi will step down after a transition period – and Airbit employees can breathe a sigh of relief, as the deal stipulates that current employees will be retained.

The date of the integration is TBD, but should be expected in the near future, says BandLab.

The platform promises that more information about its product roadmap and future features will be released soon.
