Alongside the partnership announcement, Thatch also unveiled the Thatch Marketplace—an ecosystem of health and wellness services that employees can access using their tax-free benefits balance. “165 million Americans get health insurance through work, but most have no say in their plan,” Thatch CEO Chris Ellis said. “The Thatch Marketplace puts employees in control—letting them use their benefits on the care they actually value.” Last fall, Thatch secured $38 million in Series A funding round. The new Thatch Marketplace—which is now live and available to all Thatch employer partners—offers employees access to personalized care and services such as preventive diagnostics through Function Health and Prenuvo, mental health support and therapy, telehealth and functional medicine via Sesame and Hims & Hers, fertility care and wellness products and experiences including the Oura Ring and Peloton, available through Truemed. “At Function, we believe everyone deserves access to cutting-edge diagnostics and a deeper understanding of their health,” Function co-founder and CEO Jonathan Swerdlin said. “While annual physicals typically provide around 19 lab tests, Function offers access to more than eight times that number, ensuring you don’t miss critical aspects of your health. We are committed to empowering people to live 100 healthy years, so by partnering with Thatch, we are able to extend access to comprehensive lab testing through a modern, benefits-integrated platform.” There’s been an uptick in corporate wellness partnerships giving individuals greater agency over their well-being. Employers are increasingly joining forces with HSA and FSA solution providers such as Flex and Truemed to eliminate cost barriers and offer employees easier access to preventive care, diagnostics, mental health support and fitness tools. It’s a twofold benefit: employees gain access to essential wellness services, while brands, gyms and health companies connect with a benefits-backed consumer base. credit: Anthony Geisler It’s a shift will take center stage at Athletech News’ two-day Innovation Summit 2025 this June, where human biologist and longevity expert Gary Brecka, boutique fitness entrepreneur Anthony Geisler and Truemed co-founder Calley Means will join forces on June 17 for a panel titled “The Fitness Industry’s Role in America’s Healthcare Crisis.” Together, they’ll explore how the fitness industry can position itself as a driving force in reshaping the nation’s healthcare amid the “Make America Healthy Again” movement—a central idea Geisler underscored in ATN’s recent podcast episode this week. Coming to New York City this June 17-18, the ATN Innovation Summit is the premier in-person event for wellness and fitness leaders, featuring two days of impactful content, a wellness lounge, a cutting-edge expo floor and ample space for networking.
