Just in time for ski season, the Slopes: Ski & Snowboard app has launched an extensive collection of high-quality digital ski maps. After the update, the app now covers over 2,000 resorts worldwide, making it an indispensable tool for skiers and snowboarders.

Slopes’ custom resort mapping technology now incorporates 662 proprietary maps crafted by the app’s mapping team alongside 1,523 community-sourced maps from OpenStreetMap (OSM). The expansion now covers various destinations, from North America to Europe and Japan.

“Whether you’re riding in Europe, North America, or Japan, on Epic, Ikon, or any other ski area, we want Slopes to be there for you wherever you go and whenever you need it,” said Jessica Kripp, Product Owner, Maps & Resorts at Slopes. “This season, together with the OSM integration, we tripled the size of our map collection, creating one of the largest high-quality sets of 3D ski maps on a single platform. Seeing the final product go live is rewarding, and we’re excited to see it in action.”

The interactive 3D maps, now available on iOS and Android, allow real-time trail and lift navigation, friend location tracking, and detailed resort information. The Premium subscription, which includes these features, is $29.99 annually. Free users can still access core functionalities like live location tracking and basic map visualization.

The update also introduces upgrades to the app’s Android version, including the addition of 3D mode and an enhanced search feature for trails, lifts, facilities, and ski patrol. The mapping system now supports layers like ropes, gates, slow zones, restricted areas, and points of interest.

The new High-Definition Maps are being rolled out gradually, with Breckenridge Resort and Tsugaike Mountain Resort debuting these cutting-edge enhancements. Slopes users can expect additional features and improvements in future releases as the mapping team continues to innovate.
