LifeSpeak Taps Jason Campana as CEO Post $50M Funding

LifeSpeak taps Campana as CEO to steer growth following go-private transaction and new funding round
LifeSpeak, a digital preventative well-being provider, has appointed Jason Campana as chief executive officer, succeeding founder Michael Held. Held, who started the company in 2004, will remain on the board and serve as chair of the advisory board.
Campana, formerly chief operating officer, takes the role as LifeSpeak pursues growth following a go-private transaction and $50 million in new funding. He previously spent more than a decade at Wellbeats, where he helped scale the digital wellness company and oversaw its acquisition by LifeSpeak in 2022.
LifeSpeak, which reaches more than 14 million people across 1,000 organizations, combines AI-driven tools with expert content to encourage early intervention. The company reports that 97% of members find the platform helps them manage stress and avoid burnout, a costly issue that can drain employers of $4,000 to $21,000 per worker each year. According to its own estimates, lowering burnout by just 10% can save a 1,000-person company approximately $500,000 annually. LifeSpeak also reports that 90.5% of users make fewer visits to doctors or therapists, a shift that can cut health costs by an additional $100,000 to $250,000 per year.
“LifeSpeak is at a pivotal moment in our journey, and I’m honored to lead us into the next phase of growth,” Campana said. “Our mission is simple but powerful: to make preventive well-being accessible to everyone. We partner with organizations to help their employees take a proactive approach to health, offering expert resources and personalized guidance that empower people to take charge and thrive at work and in life. Now as a private company with fresh investment, we are poised to reach our goal of expanding to 20 million users by 2027 while driving measurable outcomes for our partners and customers.”
Held said the transition reflects the company’s next chapter.
“This is the right moment for Jason to take the helm, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for him,” he said. “His strategic vision and deep understanding of our market will ensure LifeSpeak delivers even greater value to our partners, customers and employees.”
“LifeSpeak isn’t just another wellness app — it’s a preventative health powerhouse improving outcomes for millions and reducing healthcare costs for employers,” Campana said. “I’ve never been more excited about our opportunity to grow and redefine well-being across industries, and I’m looking forward to working alongside our employees, partners, customers and investors to make this vision a reality.”
Earlier this summer, LifeSpeak expanded its offerings with an Adaptive Fitness series for individuals with injuries, chronic conditions or mobility challenges.
