Eight Sleep Launches Pod 5: A Smart System That Adapts While You Sleep

With immersive temperature control, zero-gravity elevation, surround-sound relaxation and real-time health monitoring, Pod 5 aims to transform sleep

Eight Sleep has unveiled its most advanced sleep solution yet with the launch of Pod 5, an AI-powered system that transforms any bed into a personalized, health-optimizing environment. Building on the success of previous generations, Pod 5 marks a significant leap in sleep technology by integrating temperature regulation, automatic elevation, ambient soundscapes, and passive health monitoring into one seamless experience.

Designed to adjust in real time to each sleeper’s needs, Pod 5 incorporates over 10 million hours of sleep data via Eight Sleep’s proprietary AI engine, Autopilot, to personalize the environment without requiring manual input. Whether you’re sleeping alone or with a partner, the system responds individually, relieving snoring with gentle elevation, tailoring temperature based on biometric signals, and delivering calming soundscapes to support each stage of the sleep cycle.

“Pod 5 is the result of everything we’ve learned about how your environment impacts sleep,” said Matteo Franceschetti, Co-Founder and CEO of Eight Sleep. “We’ve added new dimensions like zero-gravity positioning, personalized audio, and real-time health checks, all powered by AI, to give users the most intelligent, restorative sleep possible.”

The new hydro-powered Blanket works in tandem with the Cover to deliver precise temperature control, from 55°F to 110°F, across the entire body. Each side of the bed adjusts independently to avoid temperature conflicts between partners, helping users fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

The updated Base offers a low-profile design that fits most bed frames while providing adjustable elevation modes for sleep, reading, and recovery. It can automatically lift the head in response to snoring, a feature the company says can reduce snoring by up to 45%. Built-in surround-sound speakers deliver science-backed audio to ease the body into rest. In partnership with Dr. Andrew Huberman, Eight Sleep has introduced exclusive Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR) content designed to calm the nervous system and promote recovery. Soundscapes can be set to turn off automatically after sleep onset or continue playing through the night, depending on user preference.

With Pod 5, Eight Sleep also introduces Health Check, a contact-free health monitoring system that tracks cardiovascular and respiratory patterns during sleep. Unlike wearables, Health Check operates entirely through sensors embedded in the Pod Cover. The system tracks key biometrics like heart rate, respiratory rate, heart rate variability, and sleep stages, alerting users to abnormalities through the Eight Sleep app. According to the company, the Pod tracks heart rate with 99% precision, matching the accuracy of clinical-grade ECGs.

“We see Health Check as the future of health—where your bed not only helps you recover but also acts as an early warning system for your body,” Franceschetti said. “It’s a shift towards preventive care with no wearables on your body, leveraging the 7 to 9 hours that you spend on your bed every day to conduct a review of your health.”

Pod 5 is a modular, intelligent sleep system composed of four integrated components: the Cover, the Hub, the Blanket, and the Base. All elements are compatible with standard mattresses and frames. The Cover fits like a fitted sheet, the Blanket can be inserted into most duvets, and the Base can either rest on existing frames or stand alone with an optional leg kit.

Now available at eightsleep.com, Pod 5 is being released across the United States (excluding territories), European Union (with a few exceptions), United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, UAE, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Monaco, and Switzerland. Pricing starts at $2,849 USD, with free shipping and a 30-night trial.
