CEO Corner: Sage + Sound’s Co-Founders Lacey Tisch & Lauren Zucker on Expansion Plans

The founders sat down with Athletech News to discuss the wellness center’s evolving goals and expansion plans after two years of business

Sage + Sound was founded two years ago by Lacey Tisch and Lauren Zucker, who identified a gap in the market: a wellness destination in New York City rooted in accessibility and comprehensive offerings. Since then, it has grown 70% year-over-year in revenue, and has future expansion plans in Greenwich, CT.

“Individually, we had been on our own very different wellness journeys that took us all over the city (and beyond),” Tisch explained. “We wanted to create a convenient destination that wasn’t just about one aspect of wellness, but could offer a comprehensive experience under one roof.”

Tisch and Zucker’s vision for Sage + Sound was about creating a sanctuary for both physical and emotional well-being.

“Our goal was to make wellness approachable and personalized, blending expert-driven practices like acupuncture, facials, energy healing, and sound baths with a mindful, elevated community-driven space that feels welcoming,” Tisch said. “We wanted to give people the tools and experiences to nurture their physical and emotional well-being, all in one place.”

The wellness center market in New York City is growing, but Zucker says the brand’s holistic and personalized approach sets it apart. “Sage + Sound combines expert-driven services with a focus on both inner and outer well-being,” Zucker explained. “We don’t just offer treatments; we create tailored, immersive experiences that address each individual’s needs.”

This approach encompasses everything from “technology-first body treatments,” such as their newly launched lymphatic treatments, to “personalized acupuncture sessions and mindful practices like sound healing and energy work.”

Quality Products & Services

Sage + Sound places a premium on quality, from using skincare products like Biologique Recherche and Augustinus Bader to advanced technologies like Oxylight LED. “Our use of world-renowned products, combined with the expertise of globally trained practitioners, ensures a truly elevated experience,” Zucker said.

Sage + Sound also prides itself on connection and community. “We also emphasize a sense of community in The Study, with classes and workshops that help people connect with their bodies and each other, which is something many wellness spaces overlook,” she added.

As Sage + Sound gains momentum, Tisch and Zucker continue innovating on the center’s offerings. One of their latest additions is a new lymphatic treatment menu. Lymphatic drainage has grown in popularity, due to its proclaimed benefits of moving lymph fluid through the body to reduce waste, bacteria, and swelling.

Looking ahead, Sage + Sound has plans to venture into new areas, including a second location that will introduce their foray into food. “We’re not quite ready to speak about it yet, but it’s coming,” Tisch hinted.

Sage + Sound’s 70% year-over-year growth is a testament to the brand’s resonating with wellness-focused consumers. As Zucker and Tisch expand the physical footprint of Sage + Sound, they want to remain loyal to their original mission.

“Our overall goal for wellness will always be to help people prioritize self-care and community in whatever way works for them,” Zucker concluded.
