Whoop & Solidcore Partner to Offer Wearable Insights for Reformer-Based Training

The Whoop Solidcore activity will better capture insights from the workout for members
Whoop, a leader in human performance wearable technology, and Solidcore, the high-intensity, low-impact strength training brand with over 135 studios nationwide, have announced a groundbreaking partnership. The collaboration introduces a new Whoop-optimized activity specifically designed to track the unique strain and intensity of Solidcore workouts, providing members with more accurate and personalized training insights.
Reformer-based strength training, like Solidcore, poses a unique challenge for wearables. The workout’s slow, controlled, time-under-tension movements don’t create the same heart rate spikes as traditional cardio or weightlifting workouts. As a result, many wearables have historically underestimated the effort required in these sessions, leading to incomplete Strain scores.
Integrating biomechanics-based tracking, the Whoop app now captures Solidcore members’ data on their muscular load, Strain, and recovery needs.
“Solidcore workouts are unlike anything else in the fitness world, and this partnership is a testament to the growing recognition of boutique fitness as a serious training method,” said Louisa Glynne, [solidcore] Senior Master Coach. “WHOOP now allows our members to see the full impact of their efforts, eliminating the guesswork in tracking their progress and optimizing recovery.”
Unlike traditional weightlifting, Solidcore workouts focus on targeted muscle fatigue using slow and controlled movements on a custom-built reformer. This training method builds strength and endurance while minimizing joint strain.
Whoop worked closely with Solidcore coaches to validate and refine the new tracking feature, ensuring that the data collection accurately captured the activity.
“One of the biggest benefits of WHOOP was the ability to ditch my traditional smartwatch, which often distracted me during class by lighting up with notifications,” added Glynne. “With WHOOP, I could fully lock in, confident that it would track and measure my effort without the need to start and stop an activity. Beyond that, it’s transformed my understanding of strength training by putting real data behind how hard I’m working. Seeing my Strain and Recovery scores gave me the clearest picture of my fitness journey I’ve ever had.”
Beyond the workout tracking, WHOOP is now part of Solidcore’s Core Collective, providing members with exclusive perks and discounts to help them optimize their training and recovery.
