The Richmond, Va.-based company’s relaxation-inducing debut product is available for pre-order ahead of its mid-2026 launch

Designing your home for more mindfulness is about to get easier.

Richmond, Virginia-based startup Ohm has launched the Ohm Resonance Lamp, a tabletop light that creates personalized breathwork routines based on users’ biofeedback. It uses a pebble-like PPG sensor and a 9-axis accelerometer and magnetometer to track your heart rate variability (HRV), then sets light, vibration and sound cues to guide you through a calming breathing routine. The lamp adjusts its patterns as your breath, heart rate and blood pressure change, helping you reach “resonance, the physiological ‘sweet spot’ where fall into sync,” per Ohm.

The company teamed with award-winning design firm Whipsaw to create the lamp, which is made of hand-blown, tempered borosilicate glass. The sensing stone is made of a sapphire crystal lens, a polycarbonate core and smooth silicone coating.

The device comes with a lifetime membership to the Ohm Analytics app and is available for preorder for $249 for mid-2026 delivery. The first 2,000 reservations are eligible for early bird pricing ahead of the $350 retail launch.

Founded by James McGoff, Ohm boasts advisors from pioneering wellness brands including Oura and Headspace. The brand says its debut product isn’t a wearable or an app, though it does have an accompanying (and optional) smartphone app that can be used to control and track your sessions.

“Building a company while raising a family meant constant stress. I tracked everything with wearables like Oura, but data alone didn’t change anything,” McGoff said. “Discovering resonance breathing, breathing at the exact pace that maximizes heart rate variability, was the first thing that actually improved how my body handled stress. I wanted to make that practice simple and accessible, and that became Ohm.”

The brand explains that three minutes is enough to help your muscles and nervous system relax, slow your heart rate, improve your blood flow and rebalance your oxygen and CO2 levels. The Resonance Lamp glows blue once your HRV hits your ideal rate. In a span of three weeks, the lamp trains your system to achieve resonance more easily and improve sleep and focus. Ohm notes that “balance becomes your body’s default” when the lamp is used regularly for at least three months.

The Ohm Resonance Lamp can be preordered online at the $249 introductory price for the first 2,000 reservations. Learn more and reserve it for $99 (the remaining balance will be charged at shipping, estimated July 31, 2026) online at ohm.health.
