ISPA reveals the U.S. spa industry’s third year of record-breaking revenue, fueled by rising demand for wellness experiences

The U.S. spa industry continues its impressive growth, reaching a record-breaking $22.5 billion in revenue in 2024, according to the latest U.S. Spa Industry Study from the International Spa Association (ISPA). The data marks the third consecutive year of record revenue, reflecting the sector’s strong post-pandemic expansion.

According to the study conducted by PwC, spa visits increased 3.1% year-over-year, rising from 182 million to 187 million, while revenue per visit climbed 2.6% to $120.30. The number of spa locations in the U.S. also grew slightly, reaching 21,980, and industry employment expanded to 376,200 workers.

“Another year of rising revenue and guest visits reflects a thriving spa industry, creating opportunities for businesses and professionals alike,” said ISPA president Lynne McNees. “By prioritizing innovation and consumer demand for exceptional wellness experiences, the industry continues to grow across every key indicator.”

ISPA’s full report, set to be released later this year, will provide deeper insights into the evolving U.S. spa market, highlighting trends that continue to drive the industry’s success.
