The fitness operator is using UKG to manage scheduling, payroll, hiring and compliance for 900+ employees

New York Sports Club (NYSC) has tapped UKG’s workforce management platform to handle scheduling, payroll and recruiting across its portfolio of more than 30 clubs and more than 900 employees.

The fitness brand operates more than 30 gyms in New York, New Jersey, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia and sits atop a family of brands that includes boutique studio Fhitting Room and women’s-only concept Lucille by NYSC.

“With UKG, we now have real-time visibility into our workforce that we simply didn’t have before,” NYSC director of human resources systems and learn development Nathan del Llano said. “By bringing together insights across labor scheduling, performance, pay equity, employee certifications and benefits, we’re able to make more informed and connected decisions.”

For gym staff, the most visible change is scheduling. Employees can view schedules, swap shifts, request coverage and pick up hours at other locations from their phones. On the hiring side, NYSC uses the platform’s recruiting tools to pre-screen candidates and route them directly to club managers.

“Our managers can align staffing with real-time demand to ensure we have the right people with the right skills in the right place at the right time, while our employees have more control over when and where they work,” del Llano said.

Certification tracking is another point the partnership addresses, ensuring that NYC is staying compliant across locations in terms of CPR/AED and specialized training certifications.

The UKG collaboration extends a string of tech moves for NYSC, which launched MYCO, an AI coaching platform powered by Zing Coach, in April and partnered with digital health platform Thrive on biomarker testing.
