The water-filled punching bag brand is expanding its retail reach as boxing-inspired workouts gain traction beyond traditional combat sports gyms

Aqua Training Bag is stepping up its U.S. expansion, bringing its water-filled punching bags to Dick’s Sporting Goods and Academy Sports + Outdoors through its licensing partnership with Everlast.

The nationwide rollout gives Aqua Training Bag a presence across two of the country’s largest sporting goods retailers, significantly expanding consumer access to its combat-training products.

The Philadelphia-based company offers an alternative to traditional heavy bags, using water to absorb and disperse the impact of punches and kicks. Its products are designed for boxing, MMA and kickboxing, as well as strength, conditioning and at-home fitness workouts.

“Seeing Aqua Training Bag roll out nationally with Dick’s Sporting Goods and Academy is an important moment for our company,” Aqua Training Bag president Royce Negron said. “Our goal has always been bigger than creating another heavy bag. We want to change the way people experience boxing and combat training.”

The retail push is being supported by Everlast, the century-old boxing and combat-sports brand. Aqua Training Bag’s global licensing relationship with Everlast combines its water-filled training technology with Everlast’s brand recognition and retail distribution capabilities.

For Aqua Training Bag, the expansion comes as boxing-inspired fitness continues to reach consumers outside traditional fight gyms. Heavy-bag training has become a fixture at boutique studios, commercial fitness facilities and home gyms, giving equipment brands a broader market to target.

Aqua Training Bag’s products are also used by professional athletes and combat-sports facilities around the world.

“Everlast has more than a century of history in boxing,” Negron said. “Combining that heritage with Aqua Training Bag’s product lineup and new developments creates an exciting foundation for where we believe the category is headed next.”

The company plans to continue developing new products and training solutions under the Everlast licensing platform while expanding its retail distribution and international presence.
