Amped Fitness Acquires More Gyms in Florida, Ramps Up Franchising Efforts
The low-cost gym chain says it’s reimagining the standard HVLP model with luxury-level amenities and a unique atmosphere
Amped Fitness has acquired four former YouFit gyms in Florida after recently opening for franchise opportunities in May.
The upcoming Amped Fitness clubs in Tampa, Tallahassee, Sarasota and Fort Lauderdale will offer the fitness brand’s personal training offerings and “anti-toxic” gym culture to Florida fitness enthusiasts.
Amped Fitness says the newly acquired clubs will undergo a brief brand renovation before opening this September.
“We are so excited to bring Amped Fitness to these four new cities,” said Travis LaBazzo, CEO of Amped Fitness. “We know what we’ve created is worlds away from anything else we’ve seen in the industry, and it’s about time we make sure everyone has the opportunity to experience the difference that we bring. We can’t wait to share what else we’ve got going on behind the scenes – this is only the beginning!”
LaBazzo opened the first Amped Fitness with Stephen Thomas in St. Petersburg, Florida, before expanding to over 17 corporate-owned clubs with over 70,000 members. The fitness company says it’s maintained a year-over-year average growth of 115%.
Amped Fitness, which prides itself on its energetic culture, boutique-style amenities and elite gym design, took to LinkedIn to share a preview of the new club offerings, posting, “These specs are INSANE!”
The upcoming locations offer cardio and strength equipment, a uniquely curated women’s-only “Babe Cave,” tanning, HydroMassage, a functional freedom and recovery zone, childcare and unlimited virtual and instructor-led group classes.
Encouraged by what it says is a different offering than other fitness companies, Amped Fitness says that as it continues to scale, one of its top priorities is to instill its signature iconic culture into its franchise owner network.
As for its franchise model, Amped Fitness says it has taken the standard HVLP (high-value, low-price) model and created an EDLP (experience-design, low-price) concept focusing on the guest experience with its world-class amenities, aesthetics and low prices.
Amped Fitness memberships start at $9.99 per month for a basic plan and go up to $22.99 per month for a zero-enrollment VIP plan, which includes access to all amenities.
