California Family Fitness, In-Shape Health Clubs Merge Following Acquisition
The 63 rebranded clubs will now be known as In-Shape Family Fitness
California Family Fitness and In-Shape Health Clubs have joined forces, introducing In-Shape Family Fitness and strengthening their position in the fitness industry. Perpetual Capital Partners, which owns California Family Fitness, purchased In-Shape Solutions earlier this year. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The deal puts 63 health clubs under the In-Shape Family Fitness umbrella throughout the Golden State.
Despite the acquisition and new name, In-Shape Family Fitness assures its commitment to the well-being of its members and team remains unchanged. According to Randy Karr, CEO of In-Shape Family Fitness, the rebrand signals a new path forward.
“After 26 years at California Family Fitness, I couldn’t be more optimistic about what lies ahead for In-Shape Family Fitness,” Karr said. “With the new name comes a new mission – to motivate our members to move, progress, and connect on their journeys to a healthy mind, body, and spirit.”
According to its FAQ section on its new website, California Family Fitness and In-Shape Health Clubs have explored the potential benefits of combining for many years, selecting now as the right time to expand its reach with California fitness enthusiasts. All-access members will now be able to visit any of the 63 clubs starting in January 2024.
In-Shape Family Fitness facilities boast over 120 pools and spas, 75 pickleball and tennis courts, and 2,000 weekly studio fitness classes in 45 different formats. Over half of the clubs feature massage or recovery services, and more than 20 offer small group or personal training. True to the “family” name, Childcare is also offered at most In-Shape Family Fitness clubs.
“We will continue to serve our current communities, and look for ways to positively impact more people,” Karr added. “In-Shape Family Fitness will seek to set new standards for the fitness industry to serve as the number one destination for fitness and wellness in California.”
