Bon Charge’s New Toothbrush Brings Red Light Therapy to Oral Care

The wellness tech company is betting on a toothbrush to capitalize on growing interest in red light therapy
In its latest move in the red light therapy market, wellness tech company Bon Charge has unveiled its newest recovery device: the first-ever red light toothbrush.
The toothbrush, selling for around $200, utilizes high-frequency sonic vibration with targeted 830-nanometer near-infrared and 660-nanometer red light, which the company reports boosts gum health and overall oral wellbeing.
The bet on oral health is a move to capitalize on the growing popularity of red light therapy, notably in the U.K. According to data from the brand’s Global Red Light Therapy Trend report, 21% of U.K. adults are now taking advantage of red light therapy, while almost half (46%) of those under 35 are using it.

Red light therapy has become a staple in the fitness and wellness world, with its purported benefits for chronic pain, age-related cognitive decline, skin health, recovery and sleep, but Bon Charge is refocusing those benefits on oral health with its new tech. The combined use of near-infrared and red light with sonic vibration is meant to stimulate and gently massage the gums — with up to 20,000 vibrations per minute — with the goal of lifting plaque and promoting gum health.
“The red light toothbrush is our latest leap, fulfilling a white space in an area of health and wellness that is often overlooked,” said Bon Charge co-founder and CEO Andy Mant. “By combining this dual-light technology with high-frequency sonic cleaning, the toothbrush supports oral health in a way that traditional brushes simply can’t.”
The toothbrushes come with a two-minute smart timer with 30-second prompts to switch positioning, as well as four different modes that vary in strength and purpose:
- Clean (320Hz) – Powerful sonic clean to lift plaque and debris
- Sensitive (310Hz) – Gentle care for tender gums and teeth
- Care (315Hz) – Balanced sonic clean for daily use
- Polish (290Hz) – Sonic clean with added polishing action
The product launch comes soon after Bon Charge’s recent partnership with luxury hotel Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London, which began incorporating the wellness tech company’s red light therapy products both in the spa and as part of the in-room menu, where guests can order devices directly to their rooms. The hotel took the leap as part of its push to integrate more wellness experiences into guest stays, taking advantage of the expanding red light therapy market.
