Next Health Forms Scientific Advisory Council Filled With Well-Known Doctors
Names including Dr. Mark Hyman are joining the Next Health board to carry out the fast-growing brand’s “proactive healthcare” mission
Next Health, a franchisor of health optimization and longevity centers, has established its own Scientific Advisory Council of physicians, scientists and innovators in the wellness space. The council’s objective is to help Next Health in creating a global network of clinics to optimize patients’ healthspan, or the number of years spent in good health.
The council is made up of 14 members and features many well-known names in the longevity and wellness world, including functional medicine pioneer and co-founder of Function Health, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Jeffrey Bland, founder of the Institute for Functional Medicine and Dr. Amy Shah, an expert in circadian biology, nutrition and gut health.
“The future of healthcare must be proactive, not reactive,” said Next Health founder and CEO Dr. Darshan Shah. “This council brings together some of the most respected voices in medicine and science to help us design protocols that truly reverse chronic disease, optimize performance, and bring functional medicine longevity practices to millions of people across the globe.”

Founded in 2016, Next Health offers services like personalized biomarker testing, cryotherapy and IV therapy, and practitioners who review results to guide personalized health changes. The company currently holds over 70 centers in operation or development across 13 states and two outside of the U.S., and says it’s on track to open 100 globally by 2027.
“We know root-cause medicine is the solution to the healthcare crisis. I’m honored to join Dr. Shah and this council to bring functional and longevity medicine to scale through Next Health — it’s going to change lives,” Dr. Hyman said.
The council will have three main priorities in working with Next Health:
- Develop science-based protocols geared toward reversing chronic disease and optimizing health.
- Guide the integration of emerging longevity therapies into clinical practice.
- Support the company’s mission to scale functional and preventive medicine to communities across the U.S. and abroad.
The council comes together just as Next Health launched its Medicine 4.0 membership, in which members receive personalized care tailored to their individual data. The membership is built upon Shah’s four-pillar framework: functional medicine, preventive medicine, lifestyle medicine and longevity medicine.
The $99-per-month membership includes perks like quarterly biomarker and functional testing, four consults and wellness plans with a Next Health provider and access to provider-prescribed peptides, hormone care and metabolic programs.
