Hyperice, Escape Fitness Partner To Create In-Gym Wellness Zones

The special zones inside fitness facilities will feature the Hypervolt 2 Pro and other wellness and recovery products

Hyperice is rolling out dedicated wellness zones in fitness facilities through a strategic partnership with Escape Fitness, a gym design and equipment company.

In joining forces to jump on the growing wellness bandwagon in the U.K. and the U.S., Hyperice and Escape Fitness also plan to expand into the European market.

The low-profile well-being zones will feature Hyperice’s high-tech wellness products, such as its Hypervolt 2 Pro percussion massage device, as well as Escape Fitness-designed and built specialized pods and merchandise racks. The Hypervolt 2 Pro devices will be tethered so that they are continually charging and ready for use.

With a small but mighty footprint, operators can easily incorporate the wellness stations into a facility. The wellness zone is elevated with an active recovery warm-up and mobility pack that incorporates Escape’s MARS screen (a Multi-Activity Resource Station) that provides education and coaching using digital content. The station offers virtual, one-on-one coaching 24 hours a day, so wellness enthusiasts use the equipment safely and effectively.

Jim Huether, CEO of Hyperice, commented that the partnership with Escape Fitness means the two will reshape wellness offerings within the fitness space.

“Our dedicated recovery areas, ‘pods,’ and merchandised offerings are raising the bar for accessible warm-up and recovery technology and education,” Huether said. “Together, we’re committed to helping people lead healthier, more active lives.”

During a recent interview with Athletech News, Huether predicted that recovery rooms would soon become common within gyms and other fitness facilities.

“I think we’re going to see tens of thousands of recovery rooms and services throughout the world,” Huether told ATN.

Matthew Januszek, co-founder and CEO of Escape Fitness, also noted the growing interest in recovery over the years, which he has discussed on the Escape Your Limits podcast. He added that he’s been searching for the “right opportunity” to “shift the dial” from a traditional fitness offering to a holistic wellness experience.

“This collaboration with Hyperice enables us to deliver self-contained, dedicated wellness pods which marry our MARS digital touchscreens and fitness equipment with the world’s leading recovery brand to bring a unique product solution to market,” Januszek said.
