U by Kotex Introduces the Cramp Clause for Women With Period Pain

It’s never easy to cancel or skip a workout class due to period pain, but U by Kotex is making it easier to have flexibility during menstrual cycles

Most women have canceled or skipped a workout due to period pain. Such frustration is only made worse by the late cancellation or penalty charges that often follow from studios. U by Kotex has introduced a new initiative, the Cramp Clause, to provide women with flexibility during their cycles.

The Cramp Clause covers the cost of late cancellation fees for women who experience period pain. Between now and August 27th, U by Kotex is offering consumers the chance to be reimbursed $30—the average cost of a workout class—up to $15,000 in total cancellation fees through their new offering. To participate, women simply need to enter on Instagram for a chance to cover a previously missed class or to put towards a future class they may need to cancel.

Hormonal health is a major issue for employees and employers alike. According to Lifesum’s U.S. Workplace Wellbeing Trends report, 40% of Gen Z and Millennial women are willing to quit their jobs for one that better supports their female cycle. By fostering a environment that acknowledges and addresses hormonal health, studios can help ensure a happier, more member community.

This initiative is part of U by Kotex’s mission to normalize conversations around periods and their symptoms like cramping, tiredness and bloating. Studio owners can let their members know about this initiative to start the conversation about flow flexibility and create a more inclusive workout environment.
