Lindsay Arnold of Dancing with the Stars Creates a New Bridal Workout
The program incorporates strength, dance and cardio in short but effective workouts
Lindsay Arnold, founder of The Movement Club and professional dancer known for her work on Dancing with the Stars, has created a new program tailored to brides, bridesmaids, and anyone preparing for a big event. The program combines physical and mental well-being and focuses on short but effective 30-minute workouts.
“I know firsthand how stressful the wedding planning leading up to the wedding day can be—there’s a lot of mental loads, stress, and pressure involved,” Arnold told Athletech News. “This program is designed to help everybody as a whole, not just physically but mentally and emotionally. This program will guide you all the way up to your wedding day with weekly workouts that will push you physically and that help you manage your stress and give back to your body.”
The program’s workouts range from high-intensity cardio to stress-relieving stretching. “I know this program has an end goal, and I want my members and the people doing this program to feel their best on their wedding day,” Arnold said. “I want them to feel good mentally, emotionally and physically while feeling confident in their own skin, and that’s what this program is all about.”
An Inclusive Approach
The workouts include HIIT cardio, Pilates sculpt, stretching, breath work, and even dance videos. Arnold wanted the program to cater to all users.
“I worked really hard when designing this program and the weekly schedules to make sure that it was accessible to everyone regardless of their fitness level, even if you’ve never even worked out before,” Arnold explained. “There are always modification options within the program. I want everyone to feel included, like they have a place, and very empowered when doing my program.”
Arnold’s fitness philosophy prioritizes effectiveness and sustainability. The workouts are intentionally structured to avoid burnout, from a workout and nutrition perspective.
“When it comes to nutrition and recipes, I am all about quick and easy, especially leading up to an event like a wedding,” she said. “We just recently launched a new recipe program within The Movement Club, and it’s full of fast and easy, but good-fueling meals that will help enhance your workouts and give you energy. To me, that’s what food and nutrition should be about: giving back to our bodies and helping them so that they can do the things that we need to do while under stressful situations like planning a wedding.”
The Dance Connection
The program’s dance element was a response to both Arnold’s background and user requests. “I’m always incorporating dance into my workouts; that is just who I am,” Arnold said. “Since it’s the bridal program, I really wanted to create a couple of choreography videos that could help brides-to-be. The last thing that I want people stressing about on their wedding day is feeling uncomfortable in their first dance or their father-daughter dance.”
Arnold collaborated with fellow Dancing with the Stars professional Brandon Armstrong to bring the dance programming to life. “We put together some fun and simple choreography that can be done to any music but will make you feel good and comfortable on the dance floor.”
Arnold’s deep connection to the program is rooted in her desire to support women as they navigate a transformative period in their lives. She believes that the experience of wedding planning informed her approach to creating something meaningful and effective.
“I think when creating a program designed for a specific event, experience is so necessary,” she shared. “I took so much from my own experience and took myself back to my wedding planning days throughout creating this program because I wanted people to really know that I understand where they’re coming from. Your members knowing that you are right there with them and that you know what they’re going through allows the program to give them support through all the different phases that come from planning.”
“I have so many of my members DMing me and leaving comments asking how do I get more confident for my wedding day, how do I feel stronger for my wedding day,” Arnold said. “It felt like the right time, and it felt like that’s what my members were asking for.”
