ATN tried the much-hyped Alo Gym in NYC. Here’s what it’s really like inside one of the most exclusive spaces in wellness

If you’ve spent any time on wellness TikTok or Instagram, you’ve seen it: the glossy black gym filled with Alo logos, good lighting and a rotating cast of celebrities and fitness influencers.

Alo Gym is the brand’s invite-only training space that sits at the center of its fast-growing wellness ecosystem.

I had the chance to train there with Sarah DiGiovanni, one of the Alo Wellness Club’s top instructors. Sarah works with Victoria’s Secret models and other high-profile clients, and her coaching style struck a great balance between precision and ease.

Before we started, she asked about my goals and built the workout around what I wanted to improve: my strength and stability while running. Very quickly, she had a great read on my body’s imbalances and strength capabilities. The circuit she designed was challenging but balanced, focused on glute activation, core engagement and overall form.

She explained that Alo’s approach at the Wellness Club (its new name for the Alo Moves Platform) is about creating energy in the room that trickles down into the brand’s larger ecosystem. Sarah also developed The Hourglass Method on Alo Moves, which takes her in-studio workouts online.

Everything about the space feels unmistakably Alo: sleek, branded and intentionally elevated. The mats, mirrors and machines all reflect the same minimal design language that the company built its apparel around. I wore the Airlift Line Up Bra and the Airlift High-Waist 7/8 Line Up Legging in the season’s deep burgundy, a reminder of why the brand’s activewear is everywhere in both studio classes and airport lounges. The fit was flattering, the fabric supportive through every jump and hinge — and even the bra held up for high-impact moves.

Alo’s rise from yoga brand to full-fledged lifestyle powerhouse has been deliberate. The company recently rebranded its app to focus more broadly on wellness, expanding from apparel into recovery tools, skincare, footwear and the newly launched Alo Atelier, a luxury line handcrafted in Italy. What started as a leggings label has evolved into a holistic wellness ecosystem with Alo Gym at its center.

Although I didn’t test them during my visit, the gym has sleek Pilates reformers that are frequently featured in social media posts. The recovery area of the Alo Gym also has cold plunges, a sauna and a shower with (of course) Alo skincare essentials. For warmer-weather months, there’s a terrace perfect for fresh-air workouts.

Overall, the experience at Alo Gym felt like stepping into the brand’s vision of what modern wellness looks like: elevated and intentional.

The space delivers the same aesthetic Alo is known for, but underneath the sleek design, it’s a serious training environment led by experienced coaches. Alo may have been known for its leggings, but the gym proves the brand’s real focus is performance.
