Eightpoint’s new Check Heart Rate Now app turns an iPhone camera lens into a heart rate monitor

An iPhone can serve many purposes — and now, thanks to Eightpoint’s new app Check Heart Rate Now, it can double as a real-time heart monitor with no additional wearables required.

App users simply place their index finger over their iPhone camera lens, which detects and measures their heart rate. Additional features include heart rate variability analysis and trend tracking for stress, recovery and fitness insights. The app can also identify irregularities, giving users a deeper understanding of their heart health.

“This app isn’t just about numbers; it’s about understanding the story your heart is telling,” Eightpoint chief product officer Ryan Marshall said. “By tracking heart rate variability and providing a comprehensive health history, we help users identify trends and make informed lifestyle choices to improve their overall wellness.”

The Check Heart Rate app is available now on the Apple App Store for $6.99 per week.
