The activewear brand’s new launch is performance pants that can go from casual to dressy effortlessly

Fabletics’ newest men’s apparel piece, the Don Pant, is set to launch on September 13. These pants combine style and functionality, making it easier for men to transition from workouts to work, and everything in between.

Fabletics Men was launched in 2020 with a clear mission: to fill the gap in the men’s activewear market. “We launched Fabletics Men to solve a problem in the men’s activewear market: offering a curated, high-performance, and fashionable collection designed to make men feel like they finally have an activewear brand that understands their needs,” said Cedric Hudson, Vice President of Men’s Design at Fabletics, in an interview with Athletech News. “We conducted exhaustive research to identify a list of true pain points within the category—because we want to be real problem solvers. We dialed up performance and design while removing the guesswork and anxiety that accompany the everyday shopping experience for men.”

The Don Pant is made with Fabletics’ proprietary durable warp knit and features a 4-way stretch. It also boasts wrinkle-resistant and water-repellent fabric. “In the design process, we knew we wanted this pant to be the ultimate solution for casual outfits, so we created two silhouettes: 5-Pocket and Trouser,” Hudson explained. “Each silhouette offers a choice of Slim or Classic Fit.”

The 5-Pocket version features patch pockets, an extra invisible pocket for additional storage, and a branded “F” logo in brushed metal. The Trouser option includes side slash pockets with a hidden zipper for secure storage and low-profile zipper pockets on the back. “These are not just pants—they are an essential part of a man’s wardrobe that can seamlessly transition from casual to more dressed-up occasions,” Hudson added.

For Hudson, design at Fabletics is about more than just solving problems; it’s about creating an emotional connection with the wearer. “Too often, the design process is bifurcated and created simply to solve a problem, but without regard for emotion or storytelling,” he shared. “We think about where this will be worn and how that person will feel when they wear our pieces. We pull in relevant references that push us towards the scene we are trying to create with our garments and accessories. Design is just as much about problem-solving as it is about creating a feeling. It’s that feeling you get when you see a piece that is so fly that you must have it because you can already envision where and how you want to rock it.”

As Fabletics continues to innovate, Hudson is excited about what lies ahead for the brand. “I am excited for the world to see the brand we are becoming and the pieces we are continuing to create,” he said. “We are always exploring new silhouettes and fabric combinations that will be industry-leading, and I look forward to sharing that experience with the world.”
