Barry’s Names Steve Padis As Chief Financial Officer & EVP of Strategy
The HIIT workout company appointed Padis immediately after the announced partnership with Princeton Equity Group
Barry’s has announced the appointment of Steve Padis as Chief Financial Officer & EVP of Strategy. Padis, who joined Barry’s Los Angeles office in 2018 as a Strategy Director, helped the brand financially navigate the pandemic. Before joining Barry’s, Padis worked at Deloitte and received his MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business.
As Chief Financial Officer and EVP of Strategy, Padis will oversee Barry’s finance and strategy operations, like managing financial and performance reporting, driving strategic growth initiatives, and supporting Barry’s continued global expansion. The timing of his appointment is aligned with Barry’s recent Princeton Equity Group partnership.
“In 2017, I was living in Marina del Rey, California, and working through wedding plans when I spotted a Barry’s sign on Lincoln Boulevard,” Padis said. “Having heard about Barry’s and wanting to feel confident on our wedding day, I dragged my now-wife, Kelli, to our first class at the Barry’s Venice studio. After an exhilarating and slightly chaotic 50-minute class, where I nearly met my maker, I remember the post-class high—I was hooked and never looked back.”
The partnership with Princeton Equity Group will fuel the company’s next growth and expansion phase. Padis noted that Princeton’s expertise in investing in other multi-location companies will improve Barry’s operations, particularly as the company continues to improve from the pandemic setbacks.
“We were on track for the first couple of years but were derailed by the pandemic,” Padis noted. “That was truly a “circle the wagons” moment for the business, and we were never able to fully get back on our previous growth trajectory. I am ecstatic about the partnership with Princeton, as it will allow us to finally put those challenging years in the rearview mirror and do what many of us came to Barry’s to do. Barry’s has given me so much more than just The Best Workout in the World. It’s given me a community I deeply care about and a career I am genuinely passionate about every day. I am beyond grateful that I spotted the Venice studio on Lincoln Blvd. and took a chance on that first class.”
