NICE Recovery and Porsche Launch Handheld Cooling Device

NICE Recovery’s latest product cools blood through the palms, speeding up recovery and making workouts more enjoyable
NICE Recovery, a cutting-edge therapy and technology brand, is putting enhanced recovery and wellness in the palm of your hand, literally. The manufacturer just announced the launch of what it’s touting as the world’s first precision handheld cooling device, the NICE ROCC.
The product, designed by Porsche and made in Boulder, CO, uses advanced electronic cooling to adjust users’ body core temperatures. It’s self-contained and requires no ice or water.
“NICE ROCC offers improved performance right in the palm of your hands,” said Michael Ross, founder and CEO of NICE Recovery. “It’s easy to use, precise and most importantly, it works.”

Citing research from The Huberman Lab, the Journal of the Royal Naval Medical Science and the University of Hiroshima, NICE Recovery backs the idea that cooling blood through the hands boosts endurance and stalls fatigue. The brand also claims the NICE ROCC can increase workout volume by 20-30% during resistive exercise as a result.
Brian Shaw, a former strongman competitor, and multiple Premier League soccer teams are also in on the power of palm cooling, having already started using the ROCC. The device is most impactful when the user is at or near the point of exhaustion during their workout, making it ideal for strength trainers, HIIT enthusiasts, hockey, soccer, basketball, football, CrossFit, HYROX, and all other kinds of athletes.
“Every single athlete that has tried the ROCC has reported an improvement in performance,” Ross said. “Many have reported achieving personal bests because of the ROCC.”

The device weighs just 4.4 lbs (2 kg) but is made to be durable and last. It runs for over two hours on a single 60-90 minute charge and is made with machined aluminum, ABS plastic and solid-state electronics. It also carries a haptic timer that relays signals to guide users into optimal usage of the device.
NICE Recovery already has a history of supplying athletes and exercisers with high-end fitness tools. Not long after its launch in 2013, the brand released the NICE1 cold + compression system, which helps with soft tissue injuries and post-surgery recovery, also through an ice-less approach to body temperature modification.
These aren’t Porsche’s first steps into the fitness arena either. The brand previously partnered with luxury fitness brand Milon to establish a range of fitness machines, emphasizing innovative architecture and functionality.
For qualified athletes, trainers and coaches, the ROCC is available at a pro deal starting tomorrow, April 30.
