Omnichannel fitness and wellness franchise Barre3 has appointed Emerald Lopez as president, a move that signals the boutique fitness leader’s push to scale its hybrid model.

Lopez brings more than 15 years of executive experience leading multi-site consumer businesses and will work closely with Barre3 co-founders Sadie and Chris Lincoln.

The appointment follows a strong start to the year for Portland-based Barre3, which acquired San Diego-based Studio Barre earlier this year, adding 11 locations across California, Montana, Rhode Island and South Carolina. The deal builds on a similar move last fall, when Barre3 converted three Barre Centric studios in New York.

Since launching in 2008, Barre3 has grown to more than 207 women-owned studios across the U.S., Canada and the Philippines. Headquartered in Portland, the franchise operates a digital subscription platform featuring over 2,300 on-demand workouts, as well as an e-commerce arm that offers Barre3-branded activewear, props, kits and beauty and wellness items.

With the brand poised for continued expansion, CEO Sadie Lincoln said Lopez brings the right mix of operational expertise and values-driven leadership to guide Barre3’s next chapter.

“We are thrilled to welcome Emerald to Barre3,” Lincoln said. “Emerald brings a rare combination of people-first leadership with a proven history of driving significant growth strategies, operational scale and community engagement. I am confident Emerald has the vision and expertise to further strengthen our ability to transform women’s well-being while expanding our reach.”

Lopez most recently oversaw a $135 million portfolio as head of NVA Equine North America and previously held operational leadership roles at NVA General Practice and LensCrafters. She holds a doctorate in organizational leadership from City University of Seattle, a master’s degree in international relations from the University of San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Lewis & Clark College.

“I’m honored to join Barre3 and be part of a brand that’s redefining what it means to pursue wellness,” Lopez said. “This is an incredible opportunity to support a passionate community and help bring Barre3’s powerful mission to even more people. I’ve always been drawn to brands that prioritize holistic well-being and empower individuals, and Barre3 truly embodies that spirit. My goal is to leverage my experience in driving market growth and optimizing multi-site portfolios to further strengthen Barre3’s unique position in the market and ensure sustainable growth for our studios and digital community.”
