CrossFit Games Announces First East Coast Event in Albany
The CrossFit event will take place from Friday, August 1st to Sunday, August 3rd in Upstate New York
CrossFit has announced that its flagship event, the 2025 CrossFit Games, will take place at MVP Arena in Albany, New York, from Friday, August 1, to Sunday, August 3. The event is historic for the CrossFit Games, as it is the brand’s debut on the United States East Coast.
“The CrossFit Games represent the culmination of our season, and it is an important moment for our community to come together to celebrate its shared love for CrossFit,” said Don Faul, CEO of CrossFit. “We have a large and passionate community of affiliates in the Northeast region, especially New York State, and we expect Albany to be the perfect place to convene our entire community. We are excited to partner with the City of Albany and MVP Arena to showcase the best of the sport.”
Albany is the capital of New York State and is around a three-hour train or drive from New York City. The nearest airport, Albany International Airport, has direct connections to domestic and international locations.

The three-day event is a fantastic opportunity to bring new visitors to the Capital Region and our capital city of Albany.”
The 2025 CrossFit Games will be held in MVP Arena, one of Upstate New York’s largest sports and entertainment facilities. Originally opened in 1990 as the Knickerbocker Arena, the venue has a seating capacity of up to 15,000.

Since its founding in a Santa Cruz, California, garage 20 years ago, CrossFit now has over 13,000 affiliated gyms in 155 countries and more than 125,000 credentialed coaches worldwide. In 2024, the CrossFit Open, the world’s largest participatory sporting event, attracted over 343,000 participants from more than 185 countries.
