Denver outdoor enthusiasts who are Ikon Pass holders have been given a new health monitoring perk: a non-invasive MRI scan

Prenuvo, the name behind proactive whole-body MRI scans, has landed in Denver, Colorado, with a new clinic—and is already finding a way to reach outdoor enthusiasts, offering Ikon Pass holders a $400 discount on scans.

The partnership marks the first time that one of the largest ski passes has teamed with a whole-body MRI company, demonstrating that the quest for health and wellness is leaning into adjacent markets to broaden its reach.

Scan and Hit the Slopes

“Denver’s active, health-conscious community is a perfect fit for Prenuvo’s proactive approach to healthcare,” Prenuvo’s vice president of business development and strategic partnerships, Alina Ioani, said.

Between November 14, 2024, and February 28, 2025, Ikon Pass holders will receive a $400 discount on Prenuvo’s whole-body scans. The discount extends to Prenuvo’s U.S. locations, except Boston’s Hercules Research Center.

Ikon isn’t a stranger to the fitness and health industry. Earlier this year, the ski and snowboard pass brand partnered with functional fitness franchise F45 for a two-week trial to F45, discounts, and special fitness programming.

Prevention & Monitoring

In the era of preventative health care and longevity, Prenuvo offers non-invasive and radiation-free MRI scans that can detect potential health risks, including the detection of stage 1 tumors and aneurysms, and provides insights into spinal and brain health. The whole-body scans are also eligible for reimbursement for Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Accounts.

Ryan Blanchard, vice president of brand partnerships at Alterra Mountain Company, notes that the Prenuvo partnership allows Ikon Pass holders to monitor their health and wellness.

“We are excited to offer this benefit to our pass holders as they gear up for another winter season,” he added.

Founded in 2018 by Andrew Lacy and Dr. Raj Attariwala, Prenuvo and its MRI imaging has found a celebrity following, including the Kardashians.

In an interview last month with Athletech News, Daniel Durand, Prenuvo’s chief medical officer, he pointed out the importance of preventative screenings, as traditional physical exams often don’t detect issues until it’s too late.

“Only 14% of cancers are detected early, and that’s something we need to change,” he shared, adding that Prenuvo represents the future of medicine.

“At Prenuvo, we’re providing detailed information through our scans without the downsides of radiation or contrast agents,” Durand said. “Unlike incidental findings in an emergency room scan, anything we find during a Prenuvo scan is something our patients want to know about. Our scans provide crucial insights into things like vascular disease, brain health, and even the early signs of cancer, without the immediate risks or complications associated with more invasive screening methods.”

What’s Ahead for Prenuvo

Since Prenuvo’s launch, the full-body MRI scanning brand has increased its footprint from a single center in Vancouver to over ten across the U.S. and Canada and plans to open additional centers in the next 12 months, including Australia, Sweden, and the U.K.

Prenuvo also recently partnered with Erewhon, joining its elite Lifestyle Collective, which offers special deals to members of the high-end grocer.
