InterContinental Adds In-Room Sleep Tech to Singapore Hotel

The hotel chain has teamed with NuCalm to turn every stay into a science-backed sleep retreat for travelers chasing better rest, focus and recovery
In luxury hospitality, rest is moving to the top of the amenity list.
InterContinental Singapore has become the first property in the IHG Hotels & Resorts portfolio to integrate NuCalm, a neuroscience-based wellness system designed to support deep rest, stress recovery and mental performance.
The launch taps into surging interest in sleep hygiene and the rise of wellness tourism, as more travelers use hotel stays to reset health routines and build better habits.
NuCalm’s Sleep Performance Suite, headlined by its DeepSleep program, will be available in every guestroom, giving guests a holistic way to beat jet lag, prep for big meetings or simply recharge. Using patented neuroacoustic technology to gently guide brain waves into restorative states, DeepSleep helps users drift off faster, sleep deeper and wake feeling refreshed, according to NuCalm.
At InterContinental Singapore, it will run through in-room sound bars, with controls via the NuCalm app or the room’s digital interface.
“Wellness continues to be a key priority for our guests, so we are proud to bring NuCalm’s transformative technology to InterContinental Singapore,” said Andreas Kraemer, the hotel’s general manager. “By offering innovative, science-backed tools like the DeepSleep program, we can offer more ways for our guests to feel their best; whether that’s better sleep, more focus or improved recovery. This isn’t just about elevating luxury; it’s promoting holistic wellbeing at every stage of the guest journey.”
Beyond DeepSleep, NuCalm offers programs including Rescue for deep recovery, Ignite for high-energy performance, Focus for concentration, FlowState for creativity and relaxation and PowerNap for quick recharges. Tracks can be played through in-room sound bars or via the NuCalm mobile app with personal headphones, with full suite access available to select guests or by purchase.
“We’re thrilled to partner with InterContinental Singapore to bring NuCalm’s neuroscience-based wellness technology to the hospitality space in a truly integrated way,” NuCalm CEO Jim Poole said. “By embedding NuCalm into the guest experience, we’re expanding the reach of our mission: to make deep rest, mental clarity and stress recovery achievable for anyone, anywhere, even while on the move.”
Guests staying in one-bedroom suites and above will receive complimentary access to NuCalm’s VIP Edge program, which includes the full product range. Guests in other room types can access the DeepSleep program via a QR code from the front desk for the premium package or the in-room television for the general package.
InterContinental Singapore’s NuCalm rollout comes as other hospitality brands are also investing heavily in sleep health. Earlier this year, Equinox Hotels partnered with renowned sleep scientist Dr. Matthew Walker to create its Sleep Lab and expand sleep-focused amenities. According to Equinox Hotels CEO Chris Norton, guests will soon judge hotel stays as much on the quality of their rest as on dining or fitness offerings.
